Wigan Album

Ellen Bennett was born in Coundon County Durham in 1880. Her father Matthew Bennett was born in Scholes and his fdather William ran the Whitesmith's Arms on Warrington Lane for a spell. Ellen married William Eccleston in 1900 but in 1915 she abandoned him and her five children the youngest of which was just 5 months old. I don't know the name of the man with her and would be delighted if anyone has any more info on the two of them.
