Group photograph of James Houghton and Alice Malone with family and friends, taken after they married at St Williams in 1904. The photograph was taken in the yard of the old Fox Tavern, Higher Ince. The brides father, Richard Malone ( top hat, front row) had previously been the landlord of the Fox Tavern for a number of years.

Both my parents were born and raised in Wigan my mother in Beech hill (she was a Bolton)we have very little history of them as both of them died quite young. They emigrated to NZ in 1951 and I would love tofind out more about them. I do not know my grandfather (houghton) name as he died when my father was about 8 my grand mother was Margaret and remarried a Mr Saunt. My mothers parents were Lillian and James Bolton. Do you have any knowledge of them? I ahve a similar photo of my Houghton grand parents wedding, my grandmother was a milner and made all the hats.
