Could be a scene from that great film 'Stand By Me' .
The Three Amigos.
I remember the days when I was a kid
The things that we said, the things that we did
Stephane, my brother, David and me
Down by the seashore happy and free.
Fine verse DTease. Thanks. At the foot of this banking is the Wyre's footpath from which we'd seen a stricken 'gull, . . ., and no sooner had we reached the sandbank than a woman yelled from the path 'The tides coming in!'; A 'very' close call, and for all.
With every passing moment our time slips away ,
But moments like this stay fresh as that day .
Childhood was carefree , we grasped life with glee,
king of the castle, we each said was me .
Time lasted longer ,
when it was then ,
darkness came slowly ,
like an ink losing pen .
Under the street lamp
with moths overhead ,
Mam would call over , new day tomorrow,
But now it’s called bed ..
We ran to our safety ,
Were asleep in a wink
childhoods a moment
but a lovely most treasured ... blink ..
My Word!, FW.
Where exactly was Windy harbour ? I have a memory of getting sunburnt whilst staying there in the late 1950's when I was about 4 or 5 yrs old. We were living at Scholes at the time.
It's about 5 miles from Blackpool, Pete.
