Bonnie lads. Spring View air around the Clayhole must have been doing them good, plus good jackbit, although Jimmy, Southport air was also a good substitute.

Vb, a day out to Southport with Aspull Labour Club, Pop and Crisps on the ' Charra' going, ten Bob note in my pocket, running wild on the Peter Pan, stuffed full of Chips and Fish for dinner, buying cheap rubbish with the Ten Bob note in the afternoon plus rides on the fairground, more Pop and Crisps on the way home and so to bed as happy as Larry. Happy days for us kids in the 1950s.

I remember seeing kids who had come on a charabanc and thinking how lucky they were with their ten-bob note Dennis! I had only come on the train -still they were very happy days! I remember running in and out the house looking to see if the sky was blue and no clouds because we couldn't go if it looked like rain!

I remember going to Southport with Sharp St Labour Club. Our parents used to put us in the Peter Pan while they went in the pub. A bag of sweets was what we got.

Yes only joking Jimmy. The Evening Post&Chronicle use to have blurred photos and print thats all. Cracking image from a by gone age though.

Hi Anne21,
Don't know who you are, I lived in Hr. Ince but my grandad lived in Lea St off Miry Lane and used to take me on the Southport trips from the Labour Club in Sharp St. It was called Victoria Ward LC. My favourite photo of all is walking through Princess Park holding his hand and I had my name label pinned to my coat. I was actually born at his house in 1944 but moved to Ince later and used to visit him every week. I adored him! Very happy memories. I also knew girls and boys from that area,
