Albert's garage was at the back of Downall Green Road and fronting Booths Brow Road.
Les Melling had a similar set up a few yards down the backs.
In later years Albert moved to new premises opposite Sherman and Young in Soughers Lane.
In the photo, circa 1950, Albert is leaning on the ladders and my dad is on the chain hoist.
