The one in the white shirt is my brother David!!
Linda, how are you? Long time since we lived in lakeside, happy days. In the photo are Philip Mercer, Tony Cheetham, David Molyneux and me in that ridiculous shirt.
Frank. Great nostalgia! The lad on the far left is Philip Mercer I think. Hope to meet up with you when I,m up in Wigan again.I,ve started coming up more often recently. Thanks to Laurence for alerting me to the photos.
Dig the cricket 'Snake' belt.
I'm fine, Laurence. Thanks for asking. Hope the rest of your family is, too. I haven't lived in England for decades (!), but I get back about twice a year. I was actually in your old house in June this year. Our old neighbours live there and I try to visit them whenever I'm over. But Lakeside has certainly changed.
I told my brother about the photo, Jarvis, and also commented on his cricket belt. They were very popular!

Hi Linda, not seen David since leaving lakeside, have dropped on your younger brother Ian a few years ago in town, but had to apologise as I didn't recognize him after all those years.Hope you are well, we have 5 grandchildren that keep us busy and active.
Ian still lives in Standish and David in Coppull, Laurence.
Jarvo, I apologise for writing "Jarvis". You can't see the messages when writing a comment.

That's a frikenin' shirt Lawrence
freiknin shirt, agree on that Dave.!
Hi Linda. Am I correct that you live in Germany these days.Wie geht es ihnen! Do you recall among other things us working at Reed Corrugated Cases during the summer holidays to keep student debt at bay! I briefly went out with one of the other students who worked there,Ann Cotton.Do you remember her?
Es geht mir sehr gut, danke! Yes, I've lived in Germany since I finished university. I certainly know your face and your name, but I don't really remember you from Reeds. But it's true that I worked at Reeds one summer. The pay was really good in those days for a student. I remember slotting together those inside sections for cardboard boxes, for twelve bottles of ketchup for example. Anyway, we were lucky in those days - no tuition fees! We still don't have them in Germany. I say "we" although I'm still British. But I've lived in Germany far longer than I ever lived in England.
The name Ann Cotton does ring a bell, but I can't put a face to the name.
I am very interested in ancestry research and often look on wiganworld. I was so surprised to see the photo with Laurence and my brother. David must have been about ten years old on it.
Mit den besten Grüßen,
Linda
RIP Linda.
