My Uncle James,(left)and my Uncle Sam. Taken at the front of Ball's Cottages, situated at the top of Taylor's Lane, Spring View, Wigan. Taken in the early,1950s.

James was born, and live all of his life in Raven Street, Higher Ince, until his death in 1962. He served all through the first world war. Although not physically injured, he did suffer mental scars, from what he must have seen, and endured during the war. He never spoke about the war.

During the second world war he worked at Irlam, and in
later years, he was a crane driver, at Ince Forge.

He never married.

Looks like Uncle Sam is wearing the same cap he had in 1934, Albert?

Je suis Charlie Watson. It would appear that there is far more material in the crown of the cap, that you are referring to (1934).
