By being titled Hindley folk do you mean that this is a photo of Hindley, I don't think so Ben as there is no Warrington Lane in Hindley. It could be Lower Ince

Does anyone have an inkling as to where this shop would have been located? The road sign may be some sort of indicator.

Hi Colin, the lady on the left spent quite a lot of her life living in Hindley, the pic was found amongst many photo's of people from Hindley, she worked at the shop which was somewhere near the church of St Catharines on Warrington Lane.

Walter St Catherine's church is no where near Warrington Lane. The only church I know of on Warrington Lane was the Jerusalem church, which is still there opposite LIDL

Warrington Lane from the Scholes end to Brittannia Bridge end is well less than a mile as the "crow flies" from St Catharine's Church - walking that distance in those days would have been a "breeze".
