They have been life long friends ,starting St. Patrick's School together later going to The Convent Standishgate .

The photo confirms this friendship in my opinion - they look very comfortable in each others company.
On a purely personal level are you the self-same Tom Walsh who attended WGS in the 1950's? Apologies if I'm way off the mark.

Ben, sorry I didn't attend The Gammer School,I'm afraid I wasn't cleaver enough for such an establishment . My secondary schooling was at St.
John Fisher. Unfortunately I wasn't a great scholar.

I have a lot of empathy for the view that it's not always about how you start Tom, it's how you develop and finish that matters. Lifelong learning.
