Liz, used to love hand knitted jumpers. Like most people we were poor and you had to make the most of hand me down clothes. My mum got a lot of our clothes from the Army & Navy stores, I hated going to school dressed as a Japanese Admiral:-)

Dave we had no choice my grannies Birchall was a seamstress and a great knitter.....my Mum was a secretary and grannies made all her suits for work and blouses.....she was magic at all that......always came up with pretty dresses...as you can imagine though there were lots,of hand me downs between us girls.....as we also were not that well off..... :-)

Yes Liz I remember you and your Jo, I was in the same class but I was always made to sit on the back row with the bad ones.
