What number did your wife's great grandparents live at in Newman street whelley because my late grandfather on my mum's side of the family his eldest sister my great aunt Elizabeth Annie Jones married a George forshaw who lived in a house in Newman street whelley and had brothers Roy, Frank and a sister named Annie I don't know if he has/had any more siblings but my great uncle George forshaw had a daughter I was told by my mum from a first marriage/relationship I don't know her name but when he married my great aunty Elizabeth Annie Jones they had a son named George Richard forshaw after his dad he was my mum's first cousin and her usher at my mum's and dad's wedding in 1967 sadly on the 28'th of may 1968 whilst on a school trip to Wales my cousin Richard as he was known to family and friends was tragically killed when looking at the wildlife near a quarry/cliff edge which gave way and he fell around two hundred feet down to his death he was only fifteen years of age the tragedy upset everyone in the community three years before my own birth, my dear late mum was already four months into expecting her first born child my eldest brother. Richard is resting in eternal peace in Westwood cemetery Wigan with his parents and across the pathway around thirty foot away my great uncle George forshaw's brother Roy and his family are resting in their own family plot.
cousin Richard was my uncle George and aunty Annie's only child together uncle George forshaw passed away in 1991 and auntie Annie passed away in 1992 I was present at both funerals along with all other family members, friends, and neighbours.
I have a strong feeling that it's possible that your wife's great grandparents are my late great uncle George forshaw's parents.
I hope this information is helpful to you and your wife if you are doing a family tree.
Kind regards
Steve.
