Wigan Album

I've posted this in response ,to Cyrils request. The ones posted prior to this I got from the cuttings book,at The History Shop. After Cyrils query , I visited The History Shop, and looked at the microfiche, from which I got the above copy. I hadn't been aware of his war record,and that he had been mentioned in dispatches , for gallantry on the battlefield , by Field Marshal Milne. Alderman Mannion was indeed a remarkable man.

Thank you Tom, by all accounts he was quite a character and very well liked and respected around Scholes.

Am I right in assuming Mannion House in Scholes is named after him?
