I remember a Mrs Molyneux living (I think) in Pemberton in the sixties. She was something of a character, being a psychic medium (or at least she read teacups). Any relation?

Gt Grandma Jane died when I was about five in 1953 so wouldn't be the lady you refer to. Her grandson Harry Molyneux lived in Pemberton after he married in the late forties until he died earlier this century.

Jane and Henry Molyneux were my wifes great grandparents.
Her grandad was Joseph. Do you have any more family tree info before Henry or in general?

Hello Alan, it seems Joseph Molyneux (married to Nellie) was my Great Uncle and Sister to my Grandma Florrence Critchley (nee Molyneux. They lived at the bottom of Dickinson Lane Westhoughton. If you let me have your contact details I can put you in touch with my mum's cousin Marion Alty (nee Molyneux) and daughter of John Molynueux brother of Joseph. Check out the Molyneux family Scholes under people heading. You can email me on johna.hankin@virgin.net if you wish

Hi
Thanks for the wonderful photos. My 4th great grandfather, Zachariah Molyneux, was a 'provisions dealer' in Queen Street, Wigan, around the 1850's. His daughter, Margaret, married Thomas Milner, a Wigan watchmaker in 1844. I have yet to research the Molyneux side, but I am aware there was a wealthy and 'landed' Molyneux family living near to Wigan with a son called Zachariah, though I don't think this is Zachariah from my tree, who, I believe was more likely to be the son of William, a weaver and was born in around 1793.

Does any of the above ring any bells (assuming you have done family research that goes so far back)?

Thanks,

Alan
