Somewhere in the mid seventies I was commissioned to shoot portraits of the cast of Henry IV at Wigan Little Theatre (I think Compton Street), probably not there anymore.
I portrayed the entire cast at the dress rehearsal by stage lighting and on stage. Many of the images from my archive were lost as my family and I moved around the world, but I remember printing this copy from one of the negs at a New York Photo Equipment Expo

Eventually when we fincall sort out boxes that have been stashed away, other old negs may come to light. This print was made in 1992 when I was demonstrating some printing equpment in New York, I always used images that I had created to avoid copyright issues in this country

@George, I seem to recall you in a couple of productions in the seventies: I am a camera, and Pin to see the peep show. I think your wife was my infant school teacher at St Michaels. You are a talented actor and a joy to see perform.

Michael,Thank you for your kind comments.Yes I played the male lead in "I Am A Camera". Years later I played the M.C.in "Cabaret" which was based on "Camera" I wasn't in "Peep Show".My wife did teach you at St. Michaels.Long time ago now!!

Wasn't too sure about peep show. As you say, a couple of years ago .Your wife taught me in 1964! I was later directed by Margaret Kinley in a couple of productions at the Deanery whilst in the 6th form. Hope you and your wife are keeping well. Kind regards.

I remember you George as Jack Point in Yeomen. I was a teenage programme seller at St Johns Hall. You were brilliant. I can still see you in the finale dropping insensible at Phoebes feet. I even came backstage and met you which for me was a thrill. Thank you for that.

Thank you John for remembering me .I enjoyed playing Jack Point .When my mother saw the show she was convinced I had been taken ill in the last act and had to be restraned from rushing backstage! There are some photos of that show on Wigan World.Best wishes George.

I recognised Geroge Richmond immediately and the costume. I am pretty sure it was designed by Roy Jarratt who for about ten years was a huge asset to WLTs costume department. I appeared alongside George In The King and I playing Louis, Anna's son.

I remember that show very well Mark all my costumes in King And I were made by my wife.I still see Mrs Anna and her real life husband Gerrard Shannon. trust you are keeping well.

Oh, George, whatever happened to all those lost years. They just keep on rolling by. You are one of a handful of actors still breathing, who pre-date me at WLT. Am I still allowed to use such a Dacreism? I was only mentioning the crumbling plaster and the insidious rising damp that used to be disguised by curtains which, as I remember, were fashioned from material in IGB (Db's) preferred colours. The ones in the old bar I mean. What value in those days with seats costing half a crown, and a pint for about tenpence in old money. The tickets were from a book of cloakroom tickets, in those days, if my memory serves me. On the odd occasion, too, we could flood the basement with perfumed water from the Douglas. Reminiscent of flooding the ring at Blackpool Tower Circus for the finale, but not so palatable, if that is an appropriate term for foul water.

Hope you are keeping well, and just to say, that I am making a return appearance in "Kes" in September, after an absence of some twelve years. I hope Patricia is keeping well. My regards to her, in fact, to you both.

Brian
