Raymond, you are right, all the people on this page are related.
Robert Sutch was our Great Grandfather and Alice Bretherton was our Great Grandmother.
Robert had a brother, Peter Sutch born 1842 who married Hester Bagguley and moved to the Platt Bridge area. They had seven children, five boys and two girls. Three of the boys emmigrated to America, namely Christopher Richard Sutch, John Sutch and Oliver Sutch and they still have descendants living there. One of the daughters, Betsy, married Harry Alder and moved to New Zealand where they also have living descendants. The remaining two boys, namely Tom Sutch (the undertaker/carpenter) and Albert stayed in the Platt Bridge area where they still have living descendants. The remaining daughter, Sarah Jane, married Charles Smith and stayed in the Wigan area.

Dennis. It looks like we share a blood line going back many years. My mother, violet, was the only daughter of Albert Sutch and Margret (nee Alder). I recall Betsy and Harry Alder visiting in 1952(?). At that time we lived on St Helens dog track with Margret. My grandparents had two sons, Albert, who married Lily (no offspring), and latterly had the Post Office on Bickershaw Lane, and John who had a single child, Barry, and died shortly after the 2nd war, from what I was told was TB. Barry did marry and have a child, but I lost touch with him around 1976.
