Hi David, I remember Fred very well, he lived just four doors away from us on Crawford Ave. He had a few motor bikes in his time, also a 5cwt Ford Thames van for a time. Fred had a Aunty who lived towards Blackburn and I would ride on the back of his Norton when he went to visit, I would be about 7 years old at the time (i'm 65 now). He was a friend of my elder brother and they went on holidays together many times, Blackpool or Middleton Towers at Heysham.

I never met Fred but I am sure we share a gret deal in common. I now live in Australia.

Hi David, this is also my Dads uncle! Fred was my Nans brother, my Nan was Margaret Broomhead and my Dad is Barry Johnson. Thank You for posting the picture it's fantastic :)

I think this is my grandad
