this is a picture of my dad on his bike in Helmfield road up bgl. he was always on his bike.James Halsall. I think the year would have been about 1953.

Look at the ice and snow.... no fun riding a bike in that weather... I know, I used to ride my bike to and from school, chapped knees, legs, hands and face....wouldn't want to have to do that again... Looks like your Dad was well wrapped up Brenda... Lovely photo..

hi brenda, how lovly to see hemfield rd back then,ive played and walked down there hundreds of times it was only round the corner from us in york st in fact its only a few months ago i was there with our gerry just looking, that row is still there.what number did he live at brenda?

Yes Stephen i did go to Ince Central. i was in Irenes class i think there were two Stephens in my class. Stephen W and Stephen R.

hi Josie. no we lived in Engineer street. but my mum and dads friends lived in Hemfield road so thats were he was when the picture was taken. his friends were Ernie and Peggy Sharples. they have 3 children. Vera, Edna and Alan. lovely people.
