This may be a stupid question but could this be the "same" Bert Barnes who was the kit man for the Wigan Rugby League Club in the 1940's and possibly the 50's?

Bert’s sister, Brenda was my mother and their father was Bert Barnes, my grandad and skip man at Wigan.
