Uncle Joe could play many a tune on a piano, a wonderful man with a great dry sense of humour.

He was an owd sod who never washed a cup in his life and couldnt play a piano.

But he did have a big bike bike with a cushion tied to the crossbar for me to sit on.

Mick for someone who you say couldn't play a piano he did very well at Doreen and Tony's wedding reception at St George's hall, and I've heard that he played the piano at the Sharrock's house on Lord Street.

I agree with my brother Mick.Joe would send us out in all weathers to tramp the two miles to St maries Church on Sundays saying that he would "keep the fire warm for us". For a so called devout irish catholic, I only knew him enter one church in my life and that was to give away Teresa Jolley when she was married. Afterwards he said to me, his only daughter at the time, "Never again".He was lazy and had no knowledge of music except trying to play the spoons. Whose wedding was it that he played the piano???
