Beatrice, I can see Saturday october... but what's the year?
Lancs BMD finds two Doris Martlews who could be the little girl in the picture, one born in Wigan 1912 and the other in Billinge 1913.
You'll have to guess her age and add it on to get the year that this cutting is from - I can't tell how old she is!Also using BMD you can find that her mum was Beatrice Martlew (nee Pennington) who married William in 1906. Beatrice's mother was Mary Ellen Pennington (nee Simm)who married John in 1886.
This Beatrice is the one born in Billinge. She is part of my son-in-law's family tree. His mother was granddaughter of John Pennington & Mary Ellen Simm.
I am sorry I do not have the year of the newspaper cutting, I have scanned in the whole of the cutting and the date is missing.
