Lowton farmer John Boydell (born 1847) and his wife Lucy (born 1844, née Aspinall). Married at St Luke's in 1869. this photo taken probably early 1930s
Mr. Boydell had the reputation of being the last farmer in the area to mechanise, and still used a horse-plough until he retired, well into his 70s.
