Great old photos,Mick.I remember the many happy days spent camping at Bispham Hall and staying in the dormitory as well.I made a return visit there a few years ago and it just wasn't the same.I believe the Hall is now a private residence.

There was a bad fire there Dave, about 30 years ago. Given Wigan's track record we should be thankful it's still standing, and a car park or amusement arcade hasn't taken its place!

There was a very splendid private chapel in the hall and I remember having to go through the very dark cellars to fetch the coal.I believe the large man made lake was filled in which is a great shame as it was a haven for water voles.
A group of us lads won a backwoodsman competition up there and we were presented with one of the 4 arrows used by Baden Powell to launch the Boy Scout movement.

Doesn't a certain Mr Kenyon reside there?
