Not a good pic, but showing the elaborate font cover, with hovering dove, given by St Mary's Girls' Guild as their memorial to the dead of WW1. It was dedicated by the Bishop on February 25th, 1923. Whether the Memorial Plaque was moved at that time to give it an unobscured position, or whether it was moved away from the dirt which the radiator behind the font obviously attracted, is unknown.
