Photo taken from canal bridge at Ince Rose Bridge looking towards Wigan. Photo probably taken mid to late 1960's. Terraced houses between Methodist Church and Oddfellows are still standing. Infamous Rose Bridge Cafe on right

oh I remember it all so well. We lived in Bridgewater Street. No eight two doors away from the pingy. When I was a little girl in bed you could hear all the people singing in the pub. I remember the cafe on Rose Bridge and I have just remembered something else. A girl came to work in the cafe and she was Italian I think, she was very beautiful and if memory serves me well I think she was engaged to the owner. Strange to think what happened to all these people because it only seems like yesterday. MB

What a brilliant photo, brings back lots of memories. I lived next door to the Pingy, noticed my old house has gone on this photo so it was after 1965. My brother Stephen and myself both went to Rose Bridge school.

Many thanks for this photo John, it's the first time I've seen a photo of my old primary school, St Catharines, even if it is rather small.
