The colliery engines used to take the wagons to the exchange sidings which were somewhere around Bolton House Rd at Bickershaw, they would drop off the full ones,pick up a rake of empties and take them back to the pit. The B.R.crew would couple up to the loaded wagons and take them to the power station. Thanks for the photo.

Only a guess but that tree line to the rear right looks like the view from my back garden so could this picture been taken from bickershaw bridges embankment?
