Photograph showing the premises of Miles Williams and Co. paint and varnish manufacturers Britannia Varnish Works Scholes Bridge. A retail shop was situated on the premises and the firm had another branch in Bootle.

didn't that shop become tommy hannons later on

Hannon's was on the other side of the railway bridge to the right of the picture.
I remember old mother Kelly having this shop in the early 1950's and similar to Hannon's it did sell second hand things and in the sixty's selling a variety of goods including toy's. Later before it closed I think it sold motor bikes.
