Presently a ruin, but undergoing restoration.
Who is restoring this site and is it government funded or local funded or private. please let me know
Several planning applications to "restore" this farm have been made to and refused by WLBC in recent years. Under current policy this is likely to remain a ruin.
It's currently for sale (£500k) and Grade II listed (presume that's the reason for the planning permission refusals).
i stumbled across the ruins on this farm today . an was curious to see it in its original form . wow this house was beautiful in its day . has anyone got any more photos of is ?
Does anyone no the present owner I offered the asking price on 26.10.2013 to the agent who was reluctant to accept
I used to live in Dalton and walked over this farm a lot,i have spoken to the owner when he first bought this ruin and the surrounding land with a view to restoring it and working the land but was refused planning permission. I know he was a builder and i think lived Southport way but can't remember his name but if you ask Mr Waterworth at Stonehall cottage in Crow Lane Dalton who is a parish councellor i am sure he will know who if not this man is the current owner hope this helps you in your quest.
Thanks very much Dave for your reply. You have been very helpful i really appreciate it
Thanks so much for all the comments. Could I possibly ask, we’ve lived near the area and always wanted to bring the farm back to life (dad can remember it as it was). We’re now in a position to restore it sympathetically but I just wondered if anyone knew where it was up to in terms of planning permission. Kindest regards
The land including the ruins are currently for sale for £500,000. It is on rightmove under land for sale Dalton. The agent is Jackson Property
The West Lancashire Council are not helpful in a simple question.....give me an idea what is acceptable to rebuild....... no chance. I think they get frightened that they won;t get re-elected !
