Superb view, the cooling towers, the Higher Ince Mills, St Mary's spire at Lower Ince, the Old Hall and the Wigan Alps (three sisters) in the background, now mostly all gone.

Not fishing but ratting, the dogs name was Sam.

I must admit I prefer the canal ways these days to that period. I still have scars on my knee when I fell off my bike on the shingle and had to have stitches. They are a blue colour just like pitmen's scars! So much more beautiful scenery now than then.
