Following on from my previous photo of Sammy's Flood, a photo taken from the "wobbly flagstones"looking across Sammy's. The houses in the background, Liverpool Road & Crompton Street. The trolley bus wires can just about be seen. The 'bus depot would be among the buildings on the left. Maybe Hindley South station on the extreme right.

That's a lovely photo of Sammy's. I remember the LUT Bus Depot well.

ArthurP,Another good photo.I think Hindley South was further to the right,the building on the right as I recall was the Holland Hoisery,some kind of textile place which was later a sewing place.we used to walk from the Lump to my relatives on Bickershaw Lane many times along the flagstones.It is odds on that in 1954 Iwould have fed some of those swans

pW - yes, I think it is Holland Hosiery, they were there for some years, I think.
