On the theme of train spotting in the 50's/60's -80's, Ref.item#29785 this was a good spot to stand.It was a pedestrian footway crossing leading towards Chorley Road from Grove Lane.I doubt whether it is still there now.This was diesel D311 hauling the London-Perth Express.Time 2-56pm 24-05-1961.Victoria Pit Chimney in the background.

Crossing replaced a few years ago with a large green footbridge .
