Yours truly (wearing dickie bow) getting there first, while Alan Beswick, second from the left, casts a sideways glance on his way to securing second place.
Alan is also the proud owner of a magnificent model ship: HMS Illustrious. They can be seen on Google Images.
The 'small' lad with blond hair, in the centre of the photo, is Graham Morris. Graham has become an excellent plantsman.
Edward Cunliffe, second from the left and wearing a black blazer, became the drummer in a short-lived pop-group, which like so many other groups of the time, decided to call ... . I last spoke to Edward about six or seven years ago when I found him to be his usual and unaffected self.

My apologies to Alan: His model ship is HMS Invincible, and not HMS Illustrious as first described.

And with further apologies to Edward Cunliffe; Edward is seen second from the right.
