Have you been having a rummage again Tom? If my memory serves me well, I think the roue code was 2K50. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Not a route that I am familiar with and I have always chosen the L&Y route from Pemberton. It was always much more interesting from Preston Road onwards to Exchange.
Geoff, route code for the Lime St/North Western trains was 2F50. Remember it well from trainspotting at Springs Branch back in the day. Not that we were that interested in the 2-car multiple units, there was much more interesting and impressive traffic on the main line.
Thanks for reminding me English Electric. My old mind playing tricks again! I spent many happy hours watching
(Mostly) steam engines passing the top of our street in Lower Ince. Not much character to a diesel loco, especially those boring multiple units.
