Painting of Wigan Pier by Peter Chippendale. A bit Loweryish with colour,

Before I scrolled down completely, I thought that this looked vaguely Lowery-ish!(I expect it was the stick like legs!)

Those chimneys would have been a real challenge for Fred Dibnah!

A cross between Lowry and Dali !

Its got a certain charm ....it may well have been painted in the 'Summer of Love' and the colours are lovely.

Hi everyone this is my dads painting. He is self taught and started painting after having to give up his job due to health problems, his first paintings and drawings were very detailed , then we found out he had skin cancer and needed extensive surgery, then sadly he became riddled in arthritis, rather than give up what he loved doing he changed his style. He describes himself as Dali mixed with lowry and his own Chippendale twist.
He has a Facebook page p.chippendalepaintings. im in awe of how he never gives up. We very nearly lost him on new years day , he just started painting again in July. His paintings are inspired by the northen working class and his experiences of working on the railway x
