Excellent photos Ron!! The destination blind on the Leyland
bus,"DICCONSON LANE", was not one that many local people
would have seen, It was a short working of the No 15 route
to Bolton, as far as Aspull,at the time of the morning and
evening peak time busy period.

The days when buses didn't have CCTV cameras installed all over the place, inside as well as outside, eroding more of peoples privacy away in the name security, crime prevention and terrorism, or whatever the latest excuse is these days. Now drivers have to sit there and be monitored all the time and treated like a slave. I went on an old ex 60s London bus used as a sightseeing tour the other day and even that had CCTV cameras on them. What a brainwashed world we live in. Imagine what our children and grandchildren are going to have to live through if we dont stand up to this intrusive big brother society we're living now. Bring back On the Buses not Nazi Germany and authoritarian laws.

We wouldn't need CCTV if everyone behaved themselves. Blame the religious zealots, scroats and drug addicts for CCTV. Animals dressed up as humans who don't know how to conduct themselves in public. Maybe we could bring back outside lavvies and ricketts too. The good old days aren't as good ads you remember. As a single woman, CCTV gives me reassurance, something I never had when I was younger.
