These photos were taken by Jack Smith, onetime assistant headmaster of Woodfield Primary School on Wigan Lane. He lived at Giant's Hall in the mid sixties (the photos were donated to Wigan Arch Soc by his sister-in-law Liz Smith).

This is my favourite thanks for putting on Bill. This looks like the line from John Pit coming past Giants Hall back towards Beech Hill.

Hitched a ride on loco Robin Hill along this line, early 60's during dismantling of John Pit.
