A beautiful photograph. People often wonder why there are two Roman Catholic Churches so near St Marys is only 120 yards or so away ; the reason ,St Johns belonged to The Jesuit Order until 1933 , after The Jesuits left Wigan it came under the auspices of Liverpool Archdiocese.

Very nice, i've never seen inside it before. RON, get back to TLS, you seem to have altered the ALTAR.

There is another altar in front of the original one whereby the priest serves mass facing the congregation. Also St John's Chapel served the Convent.
