Is the spelling of Winstanley/Winsatanley Hall intentional or not. Does Satan walk those halls??

Did they worship the devil there?

Lovely photograph of the Hall in better days. Could be late twenties, early thirties? The gardens are in fine condition and the actual building looks well maintained. Captain Bankes resided here until the early eighties. Today, the place looks like a bomb site. How terribly, terribly, sad.

I received a school prize from Squire Bankes once and he addressed the whole school on my last day July 1964. A great orator as I recall. None of us got invited back for tea!!

My ancesters were in service there in the 1800's as Coachman and Seamstress. When they married, one of the the Banks family signed as a witness
