Giants Hall in Standish Wood Lane, accessable from Willow Rd in Beech Hill. Giants Hall is owned by Roger Gill who now runs a business from the premises. It has been in the Gill family for many generations from where they farmed the local area. The nearby pit which was closed in 1961 was named Giants Hall after the farmhouse.

The planter or bird bath on the lawn looks as if it could be a re used church font, does anybody know if that is the case?
It does indeed look like a church font.
For the purists amongst us - this splendid building is, of course, not in Wigan at all, but in Stah...ndish.

reply to GW 2016.Yes it is a font. Brought from St Elizabeth's church in Aspull before its demolition. Brought to Giants by my Grandfather, Alf, By horse and cart. Now full of flowers every spring.
