The 'wall' is in fact a field of corn. What looks like the top of the wall is a line drawn on the photograph representing the boundary of the proposed pit baths. On the original photo, the line turns through 90 degrees just in front of the chimney.

Hi Ernest, I think they're just fence posts as you say. They continue further on to the right on my photo, after the black line finishes.
