i lived at 86 elliot drive as a kid,all these photos take me back to my child hood, playing all ronud worsley mesnes,just looked at the tall flats does anybody remember the doctors run by dr day, which was underneth one of them, great photos

i lived at 108 elloitt drive, the same time you lived there. i now youre mum and sister annette.

I lived at No 110 Eliot Drive from 1976 - 1980 till the age of 4 with my mum & dad. I've still got all my dad's photos from back then. There's a little girl I used to play with in one of them but I can't remember her name.

The maisonette type flats in Wigan were built at Worsley Mesnes, Dumbarton Green, Beech Hill, Scholes, and a single block in Whelley. The first to go in 1984 were a block in Mesnes Avenue, and Baucher Road, Worsley Mesnes. Another block in Mesnes Avenue, and Baucher Road went in 1989 with Dumbarton Green. Orchard House was the first in Scholes to go, with all the other blocks in 1998.

I remember growing up here as a kid. great times. Now it's riddled with crime and smack rats. Nothing is being done to get rid of them.

I lived at 51 Eliot Drive about 1986 to about 1993, terrible place, I remember an elderly man being hit by a scumbag of the estate, he was riding a trail bike and collided with the pensioner, sadly he died and the scumbag got away with it but we all knew who it was .
