An auntie of mine used to own the shop on the extreme right, and when the church had a furniture sale my mam bought me a beautiful little writing bureau..I never thought I'd see those buildings again..thank you Trevor and of course your Dad.

Clifton books, I used to spend Saturday mornings and a fair bit of money in there!

A good photo of the Wesleyan School that I went to. Girls used to go in the nearest door on the right & then turn left into the cloakroom. The playground was at the back of the lower bit of the building on the right, half of the playground was underneath the main building & surrounded by high walls on the other 3 sides. The boys playground would have been the same on the other side. The classrooms, I think there were maybe 4, were at the front & back, upstairs & down with a large open hall between in which another class would be, cordoned off by a screen. We had the radio on in the hall for the BBC's 'Music & Movement' & a sort of Listen with Mother programme. Classes would have been made up of 40 plus children.
