A photo taken from the steps of Parbold signal box back in summer 1987 showing the construction of the then new properties being built on the site of the former goods yard sidings at Parbold.
The properties became "Beacon Crossing" & the flat in the photo yet to recieve its roof was to become the home of Tommy Leatherbarrow,(a Parbold Signalman).
Talk about having work right on your doorstep.
These days Tommy has retired but still lives in the flat that overlooks his former workplace & his beloved railway.
