A lovely photo of a different time, when people of all ages could go for a drink and a social night out in their local pub without having to listen to foul language; it was nipped sharply in the bud then by the landlord, and most people wouldn't have dreamt of using it anyway. A lovely, happy picture.
hi Keith hope you and the boss are well.just looking at the photo the fourth person from the left could be Alan Holland from fir grove he use to live next door but two from me.
I've been "away" for the last 40+ years (from the pub trade) and the point you make Irene really made me think. Perhaps a large percentage of our customers had already experienced the privations of the thirties, not to mention a World War, in some cases two, rationing etc., they really knew what was of value in this world.
Margaret s, thank you for asking we're well and feeling very fortunate to have at long last become grandparents, he's named after my late father, Jack Bowen. Two of our three sons are due to marry next year and yes, Alan Holland is a name I can remember now you mention it - hope you are well.
