45113 & 42235 with the 6:50pm. from Liverpool to Wigan, July 30th. 1958. This service was always a double header. Notice the signal box and the old signal gantries with the slow line indicators removed because by this time the slow lines which ran at the back of the station were no longer used.

The photos bring back memories of Garswood in the 40s, No crime ,only stealing apples,Then they had to build all those houses & spoil it,

I do understand the comment about " all those new houses spoiling" Garswood: but, if they had not been built then my family and myself wouldn't have enjoyed eleven happy years living in Kinross Avenue (1967 to 1978). I would like to ask Lyndon if he can recall when those "slow lines" were lifted? I saw the demolition train in action once, but have no record of the date. Thank you: these are excellent pictures.
