Old picture showing miners going fishing and shooting on the flash (near where the old pump-house used to be). It's a poor quality pic but I thought it was worth putting on. Me and my mates used to fish off the railway embankment there. . . the permit man wouldn't go there as it was private property Didn't stop us though !

John used to go shooting and fishing there myself in the 60s you could get a shot gun out of a catalogue those days and just use a air gun license, great photo.

The permit man was always under the railway bridge so if you nipped down and crosed the railway line you could fish for free.
