A poster advertising George Formby Senior from April 17th 1899 when he appeared at the Palace of Varieties in Wigan. The theatre Manager was Mr W Birchall, the stage Manager was Mr G Johnson, the musical director Mr John T Haldwin, It would be great if any people viewing this recognise the people named as their ancestors.

An internet search revealed that there was an extensive Blumfeld German Jewish family who were part of a circus dynasty, only one of whom survived the third Reich. Their parents were born in the 1860's so it's possible there may have been a connection with the names on the Wigan Empire poster.

I was hoping Wiganners might recognise the staff rather than the performers
