The store at 70 Warrington Road, across from Britannia Bridge School. This was a temperance bar (store that sold soft drinks, candy, etc) in the 1920's. My grandparents, James and Alice Bolderson were the proprietors at that time. They left in 1925 for America with their three daughters, which included my mother. A friend took it for my mother saying "the end of your old store.". Late 1970s.

My Granddad Robert McSorley was born in 77 Warrington Road, he had two brothers, Peter and John and a sister Beatrice. If I remember rightly, their house was just a bit further down on the oposite side of the road, to the right of the picture (as you are looking at it).

Great memory this pic. I was born at 60 warrington road ( corner of Preston Street), in 1951. Growing up I remember my Nan taking me to "Happy Harrys " for sweets etc.

I was born into 53 warrington road from Billinge hospital in 1953 and my parents and i lived there with my grandparents Ernest and Hannah Baxter until my parents moved to standish when I was about 3. When were the houses demolished? My grandparents moved out in the mid 60’s.

My grandad was born at 70 warrington rd 1907, according to his records. I wonder if some rooms were let out above the shop? He immigrated with his parents (william and Rachel walker, and brother Benjamin Walker) to New Zealand. I am over in the UK at the moment and thought I would find 70 Warrington rd still standing, but this gives me some help.
