In the picture is my sister Barbara on the right with a young relative and some of our kittens. In those days, people didn't have their cats neutered and consequently, every few months, to our great delight we were presented with these little bundles of fun. Nowadays thankfully, people are more enlightened.
It's a pity there's not a better view of the car behind, which I think is a Corsair.

the car is a ford consul

On closer examination, I think the car is called a Consul.

Margaret if you are opposite your house in photo then you must have known Louis, she had hairdressers on corner and was Andy and Bryns mum?

I live in Manley Street directly opposite these houses, i didn't know there were houses facing us, it is a monument now and a couple of benches, the house on the corner of Bryn Street looks exactly the same now as it did in 1963.

Ruth, I was born at number 12 Manley Street and lived there until 1977. Our row of houses were probably pulled down in the early 1980's. We always thought that your houses across the road from us were posh because they were garden fronted and our front step was on the pavement.

my grandma and granddad (mary ann & Giles Lowe), brought up their family in Winifred street (no 63) they lived there during ww2 and my gran told me stories of her time there. my granddad died there in 1944.a neighbour on one side was Mrs Jennions. my brother Bill (sharpe) was born there in 1946. (all a long time ago) but my gran died in 1971 and for all of my childhood I spent as much time in lower ince as I did in pemberton and recognise many of the children from the walking day pictures of westwood chapel through the 50's and 60's.

I lived in the corner house in Bryn st. The bonfire was on the spare ground in front of the house. Happy days. There is a facebook page for ince and spring view people.
