A similar photograph to the one put on by Ron Hunt some time ago, this time the cyclists got in on the act. Another one out of Auntie Maud's photo album but I don't know why it's there! I would think that it's pre-World War 1.

CROMWELL probably stopped off here when he was chasing the Royalists after he beat them at the Battle of Preston.
I was told by an old employee at the Pub that there was or is a room where they used to keep prisoners en-route to hang at Lancaster etc.
