A dark and foreboding photo of St Mary's Church at Lower Ince. I think the church knew it was about to be demolished. A crying shame as it was a great building and great buildings are very scarce in Ince...

Well that's definitely a different view of St.Mary's. Good pic Bill.

My father took a picture very much like this in 1978. If you look at some of the other pictures I'm sure they're his, but he sent them to the Parish magazine years ago. I was christened and married here and I went to St. Mary's Junior School which is now the site of the vicarage. Lovely times.

Who was your father? We have a number of similar pics of St Mary's, by various photographers, but not all have their names on them. It would be good to give credit where it's due.

I was always in awe of the "Cathedral style" appearance of the old St Mary's church. So much so, I'm puzzled why I didn't buy a decent camera and take more photo's.
That shot was taken with a hopeless polaroid instant camera, a folding type. Mind you, I probably wouldn't have acheived that "accidental" foreboding image with a decent camera.
